

Shira Berman has worked as a writer, editor, and program manager in the field of medical education and communications for the past 15 years. She most recently served as Vice President of Scientific Programs at the Prostate Cancer Foundation, the world's largest philanthropic source of support for prostate cancer research. In this capacity, Ms. Berman spearheaded the development of a series of educational programs about prostate cancer geared toward patients and physicians.
Prior to joining the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Ms. Berman served as Program Director of the Hematology-Oncology specialty site of Medscape from WebMD, the leading source of professional medical education. Ms. Berman began her career in medical and health communications working as an editor at a number of medical education and communications agencies, including BioScience Communications, a division of Edelman Public Relations Worldwide; Kaplan Test Prep; and Medical Information Services.
Ms. Berman received her BA in English, Cum Laude, from Queens College of the City University of New York, with additional coursework in biology and chemistry.
